The IG-2000 development process
 |
What exactly does the Modified Trilon, Inc. Agressor Assault Fighter look like?
There are a few known references that show the general appearance of this combat
vessel. After investigating numerous written descriptions, detailed and proportional
sketches, Decipher's artist, Rob Burns put all the pieces together.
|
Still not convinced this is the real thing? Rob used the "blueprint" (right
image) to calculate proportions and elements that make up the vessel's basic structure.
Limited by the details of the sketch (shown above), he had to rely on his memory
and accute knowledge of other ships found in the Star Wars universe.
Taking his process to a more complex level, he began to construct the three dimensional
shell. After several hours of memory-hounding, and time consuming rendering, what
once looked like a tangle of wire was the beginning of the most accurate reference
of the IG-2000.

As he explains in the interview, the next step seems
to be the crucial, yet the most satisfying step for Rob . . .
"...I enjoy seeing a model come together, making it better than the last one I
built. The best part is making the final composite work, so that the 3D elements
blend with the film elements. That part takes a good deal of work too. The final
orchestration of the elements is what ultimately makes or breaks the final image."
