DecipherCon and World Championships
Move to Gen Con Indy

Decipher is pleased to announce that it will host its World Championships for The Lord of the Rings™ Trading Card Game and Star Trek™ Customizable Card Game, and all related DecipherCon festivities, July 24-27, 2003 at Gen Con Indy at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

"Our players have come to enjoy the closeness of the community that attends DecipherCon from year to year and the kind of non-stop gaming that we promote at this annual event. We hope that by exposing the Gen Con community to the Decipher player base, we will grow our community exponentially. We also believe that by moving the convention to a more central location, it will be easier and less expensive for people to travel to the event," said Decipher CEO Warren Holland. "We are extremely grateful to the Gen Con staff for helping us create this convention within a convention," Holland added.

"One of our goals is to bring more premier tournaments to Gen Con Indy and the move of DecipherCon does that," said Peter Adkison, CEO and Gaming Mogul of Gen Con LLC. "We are pleased that we can provide a venue that will satisfy the needs of the Decipher fan community and at the same time introduce new gamers to all sorts of new events. The Best Four Days in Gaming is what we hope to create for gamers across the globe."

With Gen Con Indy becoming the home for DecipherCon and the World Championships, activity and tournament plans are stepping up quite a few notches. In addition to the World Championship events for The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game and Star Trek CCG Second Edition, where players at every level will compete for a cash prize purse of $40,000, DecipherCon/Gen Con attendees can expect the following:

• A jam-packed weekend of Decipher tournaments offering 30 to 40 fun and off-the-wall events, plus exciting prizes
• A world championship-caliber party on Saturday night where you can watch the final showdown for The Lord of the Rings TCG and Star Trek CCG on the big screen and cheer on your favorite players.
• 7,500 square feet of tournament space for dedicated, 24-hour Decipher gaming
• A Sunday awards ceremony in the exhibit hall at the Decipher booth
• A full roleplaying games schedule featuring adventures created especially for Gen Con
