Decipher and Warner Bros. Consumer Products
to Discontinue THE MATRIX Trading Cards
Decipher and Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced today that, at the
request of Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Decipher is halting production
of THE MATRIX Trading Cards. Given the film's tight production schedule,
Decipher was unable to obtain access to the resources necessary to create
the product. Decipher and Warner Bros. Consumer Products continue to have
a strong partnership and are currently working on other projects together.
"The filmmakers are focused on delivering the best movie experience for
fans of this incredible property," said Warren Holland, Chairman & CEO of
Decipher. "In the true spirit of THE MATRIX, our product plans were
groundbreaking. Unfortunately, the resource needs could not be met and Warner
Bros. Consumer Products requested that we cease production of our product
rather than fall short of our mutually high expectations."
