(Norfolk, VA, April 2, 2003) The launch of STAR TREK Customizable
Card Game's Second Edition created a whole new level of excitement
within the STAR TREK gaming community and players are flocking to it like
a brand new game. With the upcoming release of Energize, the first expansion
set for Second Edition, players' enthusiasm for STAR TREK CCG is certain
to skyrocket.
Energize, a 180-card set that will be available in stores worldwide on
May 21, expands upon the gameplay of the already popular premiere set by
adding even more depth and strategy. Each of the five base set affiliations
Bajoran, Cardassian, Federation, Klingon, and Romulan will
be affected by new personnel and other cards to enhance their main themes,
such as battle, capture, and deck, hand, and discard pile manipulation,
while also developing additional themes such as one focusing on Kahless
and his followers. In addition, Energize features the Maquis, a new cross-affiliation
faction with their own headquarters mission.
"Energize is a perfect supplement to Second Edition," said Game Designer
Evan Lorentz. "This expansion continues to develop the five affiliations
introduced in the premiere set while expanding their gameplay possibilities
with new affiliation-specific themes."
This 180-card set, which will include 60 rare, 60 uncommon, and 60 common
cards, will be available in 11-card booster packs and 30-pack display boxes.
Each booster pack (MSRP $3.29) will contain one rare card and a mixture
of ten common and uncommon cards.
