DECIPHER TRADING CARD GAME STUDIO
Decipher to Release The Fellowship of the Ring
Anthology Set Featuring Exclusive Elvish Tengwar Cards
First Anthology Product for The Lord of the Rings
Trading Card Game
to be Followed by a New Release Each Summer
(Norfolk, VA June 13, 2003) Decipher is pleased to announce
the first in a series of anthologies based on The Lord of the Rings
Trading Card Game, The Fellowship of the Ring Anthology Set. Available
in stores worldwide on July 23, 2003, The Fellowship of the Ring
Anthology will feature 18 cards from the Fellowship block reprinted in the
Elvish Tengwar alphabet.
"This product is the first in an exciting series of wrap-up sets for The
Lord of the Rings TCG," said Decipher Trading Card Game Studio Director
Tim Ellington. "To offer 18 cards that represent the property so elegantly
is something that we are very proud of and are confident that collectors
will appreciate."
These 18 cards, exclusive only to this anthology set, are hand-lettered
by noted New Zealand artist Daniel Reeve. Reeve, the official calligrapher
and cartographer of The Lord of the Rings movies, has beautifully
rendered the same Tengwar symbols used in the films and seen on such works
as the inscription on The One Ring and the pages of The Book of Mazarbul.
In addition to the 18 Tengwar cards, The Fellowship of the Ring
Anthology will contain a Fellowship block starter, two boosters of each
Fellowship block set, a Fellowship Draft Pack and a booklet containing a
comprehensive card list of the first three sets as well as English text
for the Elvish cards. All will be contained in a sturdy card box that holds
over 600 cards.
The 18 Elvish cards in The Fellowship of the Ring Anthology are:
Mithril-coat; Frodo, Reluctant Adventurer; Gimli's Battle Axe; Gimli, Son
of Glóin; Servant of the Secret Fire; Gandalf, Friend of the Shirefolk;
The Saga of Elendil; Aragorn, Ranger of the North; Boromir, Lord of Gondor;
Legolas, Greenleaf; Arwen, Daughter of Elrond; The Balrog, Flame of Udún;
