Important Changes to the Decipher Tournament System
On Tuesday, June 17, we will launch Decipher's all new Tournament Resource
Management System. There are some things we want you to know and plan for
with this new system. We trust you will find the system easy to use and
enjoy the many new features and upgrades.
All tournament directors will now be required to keep an active credit
card on file with Decipher. You will be charged a one-time, $1 US registration
set-up fee. This nominal charge to your credit card loosely ensures that
all tournament directors are 18 years of age or older and discourages abuse
of the tournament system. We reserve the right to fine tournament directors
for misusing their tournament privileges. If you are an upstanding tournament
director, follow the rules and never enter a fake tournament, your credit
card will never be fined. We believe this feature alone will drastically
improve the accuracy of the worldwide tournament ratings and present us
and our valued tournament directors with many new options for the future.
Additional improvements: now when a tournament director enters results
for his tournament, he will be asked for the email addresses of the prizewinners
instead of their home addresses. It is not acceptable for tournament directors
to enter their own email address for someone else's prize. Each prize recipient
will receive an email with a redemption code and instructions on how to
redeem his prize. The winner will then be able to manage his own prize shipment
from Decipher. We expect that the speed and accuracy of Decipher's prize
support will improve drastically almost overnight!
In addition, you are likely to experience many improvements to the tournament
results entry system. The entire system was revised to make entering results
easier and more intuitive. The system upgrade also allows for "live" tournaments
allowing Tournament Directors to connect to the system from any location.
For The Lord of the Rings TCG tournament directors, you'll
notice the system now does the work for you and tiebreakers are automatically
calculated.
These changes are all part of Decipher's overall plan to improve the organized
play experience for everyone, players and tournament directors alike. We
trust you will enjoy working within the new system. With this first step
now in place, we look forward to going back to work on the development of
future upgrades to Decipher's Tournament Resource Management System.
Thank you,
Dan Bojanowski
