NEWS RELEASE
DECIPHER TRADING CARD GAME STUDIO
It's A Whole New Universe!
ANNOUNCING NEW EXPANSION FOR THE STAR TREK
CUSTOMIZABLE CARD GAME SECOND EDITION
Call to Arms to Launch in Stores September 10
(Norfolk, VA, August 11, 2003) The release of STAR TREK
Customizable Card Game Second Edition invigorated the STAR TREK gaming
community once again. The Energize expansion followed up the Premiere set
this past spring and players began to show even more enthusiasm for the
game. Now, with the release of Call to Arms, STAR TREK CCG Second
Edition is sure to be one of the most exciting customizable card games on
the market.
Call to Arms, a 208-card set that will be available in stores around the
world beginning on September 10, expands upon the universe of the already
popular game with new strategies and two new affiliations: the Dominion
and the long-awaited Borg. Both fan favorites, these two dangerous and aggressive
affiliations will change the face of the game.
"Both of these affiliations offer exciting options for players," said
Game Designer Evan Lorentz. "The Borg can evaluate and adapt to an opponent's
dilemmas they're masters at manipulating their resources and,
of course, they can assimilate an opponent's personnel."
The Dominion offers a variety of tactics, highlighting its different member
races. Vorta can be used to barter for personal gain, shape-shifting Founders
to infiltrate and sabotage an opponent from within, or Jem'Hadar to beat
enemies into submission. In addition, Call to Arms includes a new Terok
Nor Headquarters which allows a powerful alliance of the Dominion, Bajorans,
and Cardassians with help from a well-known Ferengi bartender and
his brother.
This 208-card set will include 60 rare, 60 uncommon, and 60 common cards,
as well as 28 fixed cards only found in starter decks. Call to Arms will
be available in two 63-card starter decks, Borg and Dominion (MSRP $10.99),
as well as 11-card booster packs (MSRP $3.29).
