"Where to Buy" to Become "Preferred Retailers"
For several years, Decipher has maintained a website list of retailers
who carry one or more of our products. More recently, retailers who support
our Lord of the Rings and Star Trek games have been invited
to join our Retail Fellowship and Federation Outpost preferred retailer
programs. And because there was a lot of overlap between the general and
preferred retailer lists, a few months ago we consolidated all of them into
one "Where to Buy" list with Retail Fellowship and Federation
Outpost retailers marked.
For a variety of reasons difficulty of synchronizing the website
lists with our retailer database, long delays in adding retailers to the
lists, customer confusion over retailer participation in specific promotions,
and addition of a new game (.hack//ENEMY TCG) to our product line
we're now in the process of completely overhauling our retailer lists. Here's
what's happening:
First, we're eliminating the separate Retail Fellowship and Federation
Outpost designations. All stores previously enrolled in either program,
as well as future enrollees, will now be known simply as Decipher Preferred
Retailers regardless of which games they support. Preferred retailers benefit
from early information via retail newsletters, free point-of-purchase promotional
materials, and inclusion in all Decipher direct-to-retail marketing promotions.
Next, we'll be generating the website lists directly from our current
retailer database. This means that when you sign up, your store will
appear on the list as soon as we can verify your information and enter you
in our database no long delays for a "batch" update of
the website. This change is expected to take place within the next week.
Our retailer lists will now exclusively feature "preferred retailers".
Because much of the "non-preferred retailer" information is years
out of date and does not provide our customers useful guidance in locating
a store, we regret that we must drop from our lists any retailer who has
not yet signed up for a preferred retailer program.
Finally, we're revising the retailer signup/change process slightly
to reflect the other changes. Signing up for our retailer list now automatically
means you are requesting preferred retailer status, so there are no questions
about signing up for specific programs. If you were previously listed as
a non-preferred retailer and wish to be reinstated on our list, just sign
up for the preferred retailer program now. If you were already enrolled
as a preferred retailer in either program, you don't need to do anything!
(The Decipher Preferred Retailer programs are designed for retailers of
our TCGs and RPGs. Retailers who carry our "How to Host a Murder"
product line should instead contact Mark Tuttle, mark.tuttle@decipher.com,
to be listed as a "How to Host" retailer.)
