The
Lord of the Rings RPG Core Book
"Mixed" Printing Replacement
As many of you know, The Lord of the Rings RPG Core Book recently
became available again in a second printing. Since then, a small number
of customers have found that their copy has a second-printing cover with
first-printing pages.
In general, this should not present any problems. The first printing is
still valid for gameplay, and the second printing contains no major revisions
(it was updated only to correct errata issued for the first printing). The
errata may be downloaded from decipher.com to update your first-printing
book (see the link below).
However, Decipher is prepared to replace "mixed" printing books
with full second-printing copies for customers who request it. Just email
our customer service department at customer.service@decipher.com,
or call our toll-free customer service number (1-877-787-8626), for instructions
on returning your book for a replacement copy. (Please do not ship books
to Decipher without prior authorization.)
How to identify a mixed-printing Core Book:
- First, check the back cover of the book. A second-printing cover has
the following text just below the last bulleted item: "Winner of
the Origins Award and InQuest fan award for Best Roleplaying Game."
- Then, check the Credits page (page 2). First-printing pages will say
"First Printing 2002" below the copyright notices.
If your copy has a second-printing cover and a first-printing Credits page,
then it is a mixed-printing copy and eligible for replacement.
