DECIPHER TRADING CARD GAME STUDIO

ShoPro Entertainment Names Decipher
Trading Card Game Licensee for "Megaman: NT Warrior"

Cyber Adventure Series Delivers
Good vs. Evil TCG Excitement to Kids!

(Norfolk, VA – January 21, 2004) – ShoPro Entertainment, a leading creator, developer and marketer of global entertainment brands, has awarded Decipher, Inc. a license to produce a trading card game for MegaMan: NT Warrior based on the hit animated TV series of the same name. Decipher, a worldwide leader in the collectible card game and fan club industries, launches the highly anticipated new card game to retailers beginning May 26, 2004.

Created by Decipher's award-winning game designers and art team, the new MegaMan: NT Warrior Trading Card Game captures the excitement of the struggle between good and evil and stays true to the cyber adventure story – about a NetNavigator (NetNavi) who saves the universe from diabolical forces using the Mega-Buster, his signature weapon. Decipher's MegaMan: NT Warrior TCG immerses players in a world of virtual battle and the exploration of the MegaMan: NT Warrior's universe. Sometimes 'good guys' spar against one another and other times they team up to battle against evil forces. The first set of MegaMan: NT Warrior cards, which will be sold in starter decks and booster packs, will include approximately 130 cards plus a collectible foil subset.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Decipher, a premier leader in the trading card game category," said Cynthia Modders, Vice President, Consumer Products, ShoPro Entertainment. "They understand the enormous potential MegaMan: NT Warrior can deliver in this exciting arena. Together we will develop a global strategy that will involve a series of mall events and a comprehensive marketing strategy."

"With an amazing track record in the videogame market and more recent success in the world of television, MegaMan: NT Warrior is an incredible property," said Warren Holland, Decipher Chairman and CEO. "Decipher is proud to be among the licensees preparing to take the property to a whole new level in 2004. We believe MegaMan: NT Warrior will be the next major toy and game phenomenon."

MegaMan: NT Warrior celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2003 and is one of the most famous characters and properties of all time. Originating in Japan as "Rockman," MegaMan: NT Warrior, the television series, is jointly based on the successful video game series created by Capcom and the comic series published by Shogakukan. The MegaMan: NT Warrior TV series is set in the year 200X when almost all technology is linked to a computer system and virtual world that citizens access only by using their personal NetNavis (NetNavigators). When computer viruses threaten these citizen's lives, tech-savvy Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, must battle to expose the darkness within their digital world.

Met with rave reviews at its launch, MegaMan: NT Warrior has consistently captured a large audience. During a nine-week premier of the show, "MegaMan: NT Warrior" became one of the highest rated boys' shows in America, quickly becoming the top-rated broadcast show in its time slot for children ages 2-11 and 6-11. Due to the success of this debut run, Kids' WB! has ordered an additional 26 episodes of the children's anime program scheduled to begin airing in Spring 2004.

MegaMan: NT Warrior's key characters include:

  • Lan Hikari, a courageous fifth-grader whose NetNavi is MegaMan, a humanoid robot hero with twin arm cannons.
  • Maylu Sakurai, Lan's best friend whose NetNavi, Roll, is MegaMan NT Warrior's best friend.
  • Dex, an overly confident kid with a NetNavi named GutsMan – who never seems to be able to beat MegaMan.
  • Dr. Wily, an evil and sinister scientist consumed with the idea of world domination.
