Trading Card Game Licensee for "Megaman: NT Warrior"
Cyber Adventure Series Delivers
Good vs. Evil TCG Excitement to Kids!
(Norfolk, VA January 21, 2004) ShoPro Entertainment, a leading
creator, developer and marketer of global entertainment brands, has awarded
Decipher, Inc. a license to produce a trading card game for MegaMan:
NT Warrior based on the hit animated TV series of the same name. Decipher,
a worldwide leader in the collectible card game and fan club industries,
launches the highly anticipated new card game to retailers beginning May
26, 2004.
Created by Decipher's award-winning game designers and art team, the new
MegaMan: NT Warrior Trading Card Game captures the excitement
of the struggle between good and evil and stays true to the cyber adventure
story about a NetNavigator (NetNavi) who saves the universe from
diabolical forces using the Mega-Buster, his signature weapon. Decipher's
MegaMan: NT Warrior TCG immerses players in a world of virtual battle
and the exploration of the MegaMan: NT Warrior's universe. Sometimes 'good
guys' spar against one another and other times they team up to battle against
evil forces. The first set of MegaMan: NT Warrior cards, which will
be sold in starter decks and booster packs, will include approximately 130
cards plus a collectible foil subset.

MegaMan: NT Warrior celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2003 and
is one of the most famous characters and properties of all time. Originating
in Japan as "Rockman," MegaMan: NT Warrior, the television series,
is jointly based on the successful video game series created by Capcom and
the comic series published by Shogakukan. The MegaMan: NT Warrior
TV series is set in the year 200X when almost all technology is linked to
a computer system and virtual world that citizens access only by using their
personal NetNavis (NetNavigators). When computer viruses threaten these
citizen's lives, tech-savvy Lan and his NetNavi, MegaMan, must battle to
expose the darkness within their digital world.
Met with rave reviews at its launch, MegaMan: NT Warrior has consistently
captured a large audience. During a nine-week premier of the show, "MegaMan:
NT Warrior" became one of the highest rated boys' shows in America,
quickly becoming the top-rated broadcast show in its time slot for children
ages 2-11 and 6-11. Due to the success of this debut run, Kids' WB! has
ordered an additional 26 episodes of the children's anime program scheduled
to begin airing in Spring 2004.
MegaMan: NT Warrior's key characters include:
- Lan Hikari, a courageous fifth-grader whose NetNavi is MegaMan,
a humanoid robot hero with twin arm cannons.
- Maylu Sakurai, Lan's best friend whose NetNavi, Roll, is MegaMan
NT Warrior's best friend.
- Dex, an overly confident kid with a NetNavi named GutsMan
who never seems to be able to beat MegaMan.
- Dr. Wily, an evil and sinister scientist consumed with the idea
of world domination.
