DECIPHER INTRODUCES THE WETA COLLECTION!
NEW RETAIL PROMOTION OFFERS PLAYERS AND COLLECTORS
MORE ELEMENTS FROM THE LORD OF THE RINGS!
(Norfolk, VAApril 12, 2004)Decipher is about to expand the
set of "book" cards depicting characters and items not featured in Peter
Jackson's film trilogy through a special promotion offering five new cards
created by Weta Workshop. During the five-week Weta Collection retail promotion
this summer, players and collectors will be able to receive these five cards
exclusively through their local hobby games retailer.
The five cards included in the Weta Collection promotion this summer includes
Anárion (second son of Elendil and younger brother of Isildur), Tom
Bombadil's Hat, Radagast's Staff, Ghân-buri-Ghân (headman of
the Woses of Drúadan Forest who aided the Rohirrim in their ride
to the Battle of Pelennor Fields) and the Moria Troll. Weta Workshop's involvement
in creating this cards will be denoted by the Weta Workshop "bug" logo that
will appear on all of these cards. The fully playable game cards will add
to the 1,700-plus card set for The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game and
will be tournament legal seven days after their release. Players will receive
a card for every $10 (or 10 euro or equivalent) of The Lord of the Rings
TCG they purchase.
The first four "book" cards for The Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game
were introduced through the Countdown Collection promotion and as foil versions
in the LOTR TCG set Reflections set to release on May 12, 2004. These cards
included Tom Bombadil, Goldberry, Radagast the Brown, and Glorfindel.
