Tomalak, Irate Commander

by Michael van Breemen

You don't have to have any Human in you in order to get a second version of you in the Romulan Empire. Tomalak, sporting a face only a mother could love, costs 1 less than his 3 cost Premiere version, is missing Navigation and Treachery (although adding Exobiology instead), sports a new special skill in this version, and becomes the matching commander of a completely different ship (Terix instead of the Deranas.) While his Premiere special skill of ship attribute enhancement on Romulan ships helped make him a part of many a Romulan deck (Range 7 ships aren't that great), this Tomalak is no slouch either. At the start of each of your turns, you may stop your Romulan personnel present to reveal the top card of each player's deck. This can help you determine what you're going to do this turn, knowing what's coming up for yourself but also to help with what is coming up for them and how to deal with that or how to use that to your advantage. For instance...

Pickpocket + Tomalak, Irate Commander: Gaining 2 for all of your Thieves' attributes this turn isn't exactly chump change and can make the difference between overcoming an attribute dilemma like Gomtuu or even the number of people used to solve a mission.

Tomalak, Irate Commander + Prejudice and Politics: Sneak peak to see whether it is worth it to you to use the text on Prejudice and Politics or not, all without giving your opponent the knowledge of what the card is until it's too late.

Tomalak, Irate Commander + Neral, Senate Proconsul: Before you discard that card to download Diplomatic Masquerade, why don't you check to see what it is that you'll be earning as far as skills go before you do so? After all, no one likes to waste cards needlessly. This also work as well with Bank Heist and Liam Bilby too.
