The Curtain Goes Up On DecipherCon 2004
We left you yesterday as the banners were hoisted into place on Tuesday
evening. Wednesday morning, it's back to work for the Marketing Department.
True, the booth is looking a lot more like a booth,

but there are still hundreds of details to take care of before we're ready
to meet the public. Everything from hanging outsize "cards" on
the display walls (there's Tom Bombadil!) and setting up the LOTR
Online TCG demo tables, to price-stickering the stock and laying out the
tablecloths...

all the way to troubleshooting recalcitrant tournament timers and corraling
grunties, we have more than enough to occupy us for the rest of the day.
(OK, we did break for lunch at a nearby White Castle.)

As the day winds down, outside the exhibit hall, the early birds are arriving
to pick up their badges. Lines abound. The tournament hall is set with what
seems like acres of tables and chairs, all empty. Time to go home and get
some sleep.

Comes the dawn, and we make last-minute checks as the crowds gather outside
the doors. Store is stocked... check. Online game is online... check. Banners
at the ready... check. The volunteer crew prepares their WARS TCG demo decks...

... and the crowd pours in. Another DecipherCon has begun.
