Tampering With Time
by Justin Beal
Ever want to look through your opponent's dilemma pile?
Are you the kind of player who enjoys abusing Worf, Security Detail Leader?
Do you like to attempt with small away teams at missions?
If you answered yes to any of the previous questions, you will greatly
enjoy this card. This event allows you to effectively stack the top 3 cards
of your opponent's dilemma pile (assuming you can stop enough personnel).
Or if you have enough [Fu] or [Pa] personnel in play you could cycle through
your opponent's entire dilemma pile and see all the dilemmas they are playing.
Obviously there are not many [Fu] or [Pa] personnel, but The Play's the
Thing could help with some of your "normal" personnel. Granted that would
probably stop every personnel you have in play, but it would allow you to
see each and every dilemma they are playing and decide how and where to
attempt your missions.
What about Krim? Knowing exactly what dilemmas your opponent is using
makes Krim not a blind selection for overcoming dilemmas. After you know
what can hurt you, spend a few turns overcoming all those dilemmas. Along
those same lines (but much less potent) are cards like Lauren and Ja'chuq.
Targeting those specific dilemmas that can hurt you becomes a great benefit
to your future attempts.
So have I piqued your interest yet? Well, I have one more example for
those of you who like to attempt with a minimal away team. Think about Bajorans
and their missions that are solvable with only 3 or 4 personnel. Setting
up the top 3 dilemmas can make that attempt much less risky. At the cost
of one turn (to overcome those dilemmas) per mission you can just about
guarantee solving on the first turn. That should be enough to pique anyone's
interest... What combos can you come up with?
