DGMA Organized Play Schedule 2005
Decipher and DGMA want to make 2005 the Year of the Player. We want to
recognize players who play in all of our events, from the local tournament
player to the 2005 World Champions. We do make trading card games
after all, and games are meant to be played. This will be a great year to
be a player, with players affecting the storyline for the WARS Universe,
earning byes into later rounds of larger tournaments, and helping design
and playtest cards. This is just a taste of what we have in store for 2005.
We want to recognize all of the hard work that players put into competing
on a local level in tournaments. WARS TCG started with the return of the
exclusive foils for tournament prizes. The War of the Ring Block introduced
exclusive foils for tournament prizes to The Lord of the Rings TCG
players. DGMA will introduce new cards to the exclusive prize support pool
about every six to nine months. Starting in the spring of 2005 there will
be Storyline events for WARS TCG. Storyline events are where tournament
players from around the world will influence the direction of the WARS Universe.
Players work so hard to be the best they can be at local tournaments yet
sometimes aren't able to travel to the larger tournaments to get the worldwide
recognition. Starting in 2005 DGMA will start to recognize players who have
earned a specific rating in Star Trek CCG, The Lord of the Rings
TCG, and WARS TCG. Any player who earns a 1900 ELO rating in any of these
games will be a Master for life for that specific game. Any player who earns
a 2100 ELO rating will be a Grand Master for life. DGMA will recognize these
people in the tournament search and on the messageboards. DGMA will also
have prizes for these players and run Masters-level tournaments with Masters-level
awards.
Large tournaments will also have a focus on every player involved. Every
player who attends one of our high-level tournaments will come away with
something great. The first event in 2005 is the Decipher Vegas Open in Las
Vegas on March 11-13. The Decipher Vegas Open will have an exclusive poker
chip for all players who play in any tournament during that weekend. Exclusive
cards for the high-level events will also continue in 2005 as at the end
of 2004. At the Decipher Vegas Open there will be two exclusive foil cards
foil Jack Wilgress for the WARS Open Championship and foil Pippin,
Brave Decoy for The Lord of the Rings TCG Premier Series Event. All
major conventions in 2005 will have a participation prize and most high-level
tournaments will have an exclusive foil card.

The Decipher Invitational is a new event in 2005. Formerly the Masters
Invitational for WARS TCG, we will have a Decipher Invitational for Star
Trek CCG, The Lord of the Rings TCG, and WARS TCG. These events
will take place here at Decipher and feature some of the best players from
around the world. Players can earn a trip to the Decipher Invitational at
various tournaments throughout the year. Details on the exact events will
follow later.
The World Championships for Star Trek CCG, The Lord of the Rings
TCG, and WARS TCG will again be run during DecipherCon at GenCon on August
18-21 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Here is a list of the other major events
where DGMA will have a major presence in 2005. We will run major events
for Star Trek CCG, The Lord of the Rings TCG, and WARS TCG
at all of these shows. Details for European Championships will come at a
later date.
