What inspired you to begin 3-D modeling?
Actually I was inspired by Japanese Animation, I wanted to create my
own models of their designs. A little more than 12 years, I started
on an Amiga 500 with a program called Sculpt 3D.
Where did you first see Star Wars?
At the Martin Twin theatre here in Clarksville. Now it's a non-denominational
church. Don't remember much about it, I was 7 at the time. When I saw
it again I loved it, that was 3 years later when my parents got our
first VCR.
What, for you, is the most
amazing Star Wars visual?
When the battle droids penetrate the Gungan's forcefield and engage
the Gungans at point blank range. Only the grass and sky weren't CGI'ed.
What's your favorite, most exciting challenge
in creating art for Jedi Knights?
Doing the interior of Yoda's hut, since the interior was designed for
the convenience of the puppeteers and not for realism and because the
interior windows didn't match the placement or count of the windows
in the exterior shot.
How does it make you feel to be part of this
unprecedented collaboration of t he world's foremost artists working
to create the unique reality of Jedi Knights ?
Ever since I first saw and understood Star Wars, I've wanted to be a
part of its legacy. So I feel as though it's not only the greatest honor
and most rewarding job I've ever had, I feel that it's my destiny.
