Realms of the Elf-lords Contest #4:
Pro Player Draft
Hayes Hunter's Draft Choices
I'd draft the cards in the following order:
 |
1 Ulaire Otsea, Ringwraith in Twilight
|
 |
2 Isengard Warrior
|
 |
3 Arwen, Lady Undomiel
|
 |
4 Might of Numenor
|
The key to playing and drafting well is knowing the card pool. Because
we're each using fixed decks it's a simple matter to determine what each
person's deck can and cannot do. If you look at the lists, it's clear as
soon as you can get out more minions than they have companions there is
precious little they can do to keep Frodo alive. Hence, the reason I chose
minions as my first two picks. So why Otsea over the Warrior? The Isengard
Warrior's cost of 3 is nice for swarming, but his game text will almost
never come into play, and he's only 7 power. Ulaire Otsea, Ringwraith in
Twilight makes up for his (relatively) high cost of 4 with his 9 stength
and his home site of 3 which is important because Sauron minions are roaming
for so long. He'll always survive to the regroup which means another minion
out if they want to double. Arwen, Lady Undomiel kinda fills the 3 pick
by default, she's a companion, which will make it harder for them to get
to my Frodo, and the Gimli starter has no Gondor characters to spot for
Might of Numenor.
