New Star Trek CCG Scenario Tournaments
Sanctioned by Decipher!
Here's an exciting organized play enhancement that Star Trek CCG
players have long been waiting for!
Beginning with a limited number of test scenarios, tournament directors
will have the option of running an event as a scenario event and still have
it count towards ratings and prize support.
This is not a large departure from what is already in effect as scenario
format: the Voyager Only and Mirror, Mirror constructed tournaments both
fit into this format. Decipher has decided to broaden that format to include
any constructed-deck tournament that follows one of the approved scenarios
or closed environment structures to be posted on the Decipher site. Once
a scenario is posted on the tournament section of the website, it will be
considered sanctioned on a trial basis for three months. After the three
months, Decipher will review the scenario for consideration as a permanent
feature.
The first new tournament scenario to be added to the list: The
Dominion War, created with the help of top-rated player Chris Brennan,
features the timeframe and situations seen in the later seasons of DS9,
First Contact, and Insurrection. Also, the Mirror, Mirror scenario has been
updated and improved for better thematic play. Click here to view the new
updated
rules for the Mirror, Mirror scenario.
Look next week for Everyone's A Klingon, which takes a Klingon civil war
theme developed by former Ambassador Chris McKenna and blows it wide open,
examining an alternate 24th century timeline had the 23rd century ended
with the entire Alpha Quadrant under Klingon control.
