DECIPHERCON, DECIPHER'S ANNUAL CELEBRATION OF DECIPHER
GAMING, TO BE HELD OCTOBER 31 – NOVEMBER 3 IN CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA

• WORLD PREMIERE OF DECIPHER'S LATEST ADDITION TO
THE LORD OF THE RINGS™ TCG TO TAKE PLACE
WITH A PACK OPENING PARTY!
(Norfolk, VA, September 19, 2002)— Decipher, Inc. will host DecipherCon,
an annual celebration of Decipher gaming, from October 31 through November
3 at the Chesapeake Convention Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. The convention
will be host to championship tournaments, non-championship events, open
gaming, and special guests. In addition, on October 31st at the event's
opening ceremony, Decipher Chairman and CEO Warren Holland will premiere
the latest addition to its award-winning The Lord of the Rings™
Trading Card Game (TCG) – The Two Towers™ base set –
with a pre-release pack opening celebration for all attendees.
Pre-registration for this international gaming convention opened today
at http://www.decipher.com/deciphercon/2002/info/preregistration.html.
Pre-registrants will take advantage of a 25% discount off admission costs
as well as a 25% discount off of the commemorative DecipherCon t-shirt.

Championship events talking place over the course of the 4-day event will
include the 2002 World Championships for The Lord of the Rings™
TCG, Star Trek™ CCG, Star Wars™ CCG, Young Jedi™
CCG, and Jedi Knights™ TCG. Prizes for these events are as follows:
- The Lord of the Rings™ TCG: Chrysler PT Cruiser, $15,000
purse, One Ring replica, trophy, and a flight to DecipherCon 2003
- Star Trek™ CCG: $10,000 purse, trophy, a trip to visit the
Star Trek set at Paramount Studios, and a flight to DecipherCon 2003
- Star Wars™ CCG: $10,000 purse, and a trophy
- Young Jedi™ CCG: $1,000 purse, and a trophy
- Jedi Knights™ TCG: $1,000 purse, and a trophy
Other non-championship events include: pre-release tournaments for The
Two Towers™, a costume tournament for both The Lord of the Rings™
TCG and Star Trek™ CCG; sealed, constructed, draft, and multiplayer
tournaments. Open gaming will take place all weekend throughout the convention
hall. In addition, appearances by special guests are being arranged.
