Adventure Author Solicitation
Are you a writer? Do you enjoy creating scenarios and campaigns for the
players in your gaming group? Have you ever wished to be the author of an
adventure used by people around the world? Now's your chance!
Decipher is creating an online archive of adventures on decipher.com that
the gaming community is invited to download and use with its Star Trek™
Roleplaying Game and The Lord of the Rings™ Roleplaying Game.
Each adventure should include everything needed to play. That means that
non-player characters and random encounters should be included, along with
the plot summary, storyline, planned events, and goals for the players to
accomplish.
Submissions for consideration should be written using Word or a similar
word processing program. Each adventure should be between 2200 and 3500
words in length. Be sure to include your first and last name plus contact
information with every submission. If Decipher is pleased with the submission,
you will be asked to mail a printed copy of the submission. Please also
be sure at that time to include the release
form required of all printed submissions.
Decipher will select adventures based on creativity, character development,
plot uniqueness, and general flow of the adventure. Decipher is looking
for about 10 adventures prior to Summer 2003. Up to one per month for each
game will be posted on decipher.com. Submissions may also be published at
a later date or used to develop other Decipher RPG products.
Should your submission be accepted for publishing in any forums, you will
be compensated with US currency in an amount based on your experience in
writing for Decipher, starting at half a cent per word and increasing with
your experience. Experienced writers may also be asked to create special
adventures for future convention official events. Acceptance and use of
a submission will be in Decipher's sole discretion and is expressly subject
to the terms and conditions set forth in the RPG Adventure Author Agreement.
