2nd Annual "Chase the Can!" Tournament Weekend
Once again, it's time to Chase the Can!
Join Decipher this holiday season in giving back to your community!
On the weekend of December 14-15, Decipher will sponsor the 2nd Annual
Chase the Can Tournament Weekend to collect canned goods for the less fortunate
in communities across the country. Last year, over 250 Chase the Can tournaments
were held, which brought in thousands of cans of food for local food banks
and charities.
Players will compete for over $85,000 worth of extra prizes provided by
Decipher, while trying their hand at Decipher's newest expansions, such
as The Two Towers. Some select locations may even get the chance to host
Star Trek CCG Second Edition pre-release events!
Here's how it will work:
- Each Chase the Can tournament will be four games. Players will bring
four cans of food. This will be a required admission fee in addition to
the normal cost of the tournament as determined by the tournament organizer.
- Every player will carry their cans from game to game during the tournament.
- After every game, the winner receives one can from their opponent (loser's
choice).
- At the end of the tournament, players may exchange their cans to their
retailers for booster packs provided by Decipher. (1 can = 1 booster)
After the tournament, the Product Champion or retailer will deliver the
cans to the local food bank or charity of their choice. Decipher will award
a prize to the retailer or tournament director who donates the most canned
goods to the chosen charity or food bank in your communities (full set of
choice: The Lord of the Rings TCG: The Two Towers or Star Trek
CCG: Second Edition).
Decipher encourages retailers and tournament directors who participate
in Chase the Can to document their festivities (take pictures – have
fun with it!) and share the details with us. Send your pictures and reports
to tournaments@decipher.com.

Only Decipher Product Champions or Retail Fellowship members may sign
up to host one of these events. If you are a retailer interested in becoming

If you are a Decipher Product Champion or Retail Fellowship member and
would like to host a Chase the Can tournament, please send an email with
"Chase the Can" in the subject line to tournaments@decipher.com
no later than December 2 with the following information in the body:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Product Champion or Retail Fellowship member?
- Tournament Venue Name
- Address (this is the address that we'll be shipping the product to)
- City
- State
- Zip
- Country
- Phone
- Email
- Game (LOTR:TCG or ST:CCG)
- Tournament Format (Constructed or Sealed)
- Tournament Date (12/14 or 12/15)
- Tournament Start Time
- If you are hosting a ST:CCG Tournament, would you be interested in hosting
a Star Trek CCG Second Edition Pre-release? Yes or No (keep in
mind that the retailer would need to purchase the product directly from
Decipher at their normal rate)
This will serve as your application to host a Chase the Can event. Decipher
will review the applications and notify the stores involved by December
4th. Please note that the tournament director must post the tournament as
normal on decipher.com.
