Topper Cards
Let's take a look at the "topper" cards. These are not part of
the 100 foil cards in the Reflections II set but are special premium
cards.
Each display box should have one individually wrapped "box topper"
card, on top of the packs inside the lid - one of four special
foil premium cards:
Boba Fett With Blaster Rifle
Han With Heavy Blaster Pistol
Leia With Blaster Rifle
Obi-Wan With Lightsaber
You should get one of these cards, randomly selected, either by
obtaining a display box of 30 packs (still sealed with Decipher's
shrink wrap), from your retailer as a single, or by trading.
There is also an extra-special "case topper" card:
Darth Vader (Japanese)
Decipher does many things for the players and collectors, and
so the case topper is intended to be a benefit for Decipher's
distributors and retailers, to be used for special promotions.
As a result, these cards will not go directly to the consumer
as one might expect.
As a consumer, you should be able to get a Japanese Darth Vader
by ordering a whole case, or by trading, or from your retailer's
display case, or through a promotion your retailer might be offering
since you're a regular customer.
Alternately, at some point in the future, these cards will probably
be made available through some other promotional programs straight
from Decipher. This is also true of other recent foil cards which
are more difficult for some consumers to obtain, such as the Imperial
Star Destroyer and Clash of Sabers foil cards.
Such programs will attempt to make these cards available directly
to the consumer without degrading the value of cards already out
there, which have been given as a special "thank you" to Decipher's
distributors and retailers.
Signing off for 2000... I hope everyone will have a great holiday!
