I was born and raised in Auburn, Washington, and have followed Star Trek: The
Next Generation series since it first aired. I joined the Army right out of high
school, and in 1994, while I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, a local comic
shop offered me an excellent price on a box of starters for a new game: Star Trek
Customizable Card Game.
Unfortunately, I was about to return home, so I passed on the offer (if only
I had known...). Once I got home, I started playing the game, and was instantly
hooked. I joined a group of online players, and when it looked like Star Trek
CCG was going to die, we formed the Players Committee, dedicated to keeping the
game alive.
A few months later, Decipher announced that the game was saved with a new agreement
just signed with Paramount/Viacom, and Decipher rewarded our efforts with making
the Players Committee into the first batch of Ambassadors. Since then, I have
worked at building my player base, which started with 3 players, and has grown
to more than 70 as of March of 1998.
